INSPIRED!

This past weekend I was afforded the opportunity to attend and participate in the Middle of the Map Tattoo Convention and Artist Seminars at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines! Thanks to all my clients that stopped by our booth and said hello, much appreciated!

The convention prep for the Color Works Tattoo started months prior to me moving to CW. Sarah, our shop manager, spent countless hours getting everyone prepared for the weekend and making sure it went smoothly for all involved.

Thursday we met at the shop and loaded all our equipment and supplies up and headed down to Hy-Vee Hall to get setup and inspected.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday Taylor Made, Jessica Kloos and Samantha Spjut spent their time tattooing clients, new and old and absolutely slayed! Sarah, Riley and I spent our time assisting and checking out the convention when time allowed.

I had the amazing opportunity to meet in person, my friend Rob Foster from Mankato, MN who tattooed me on Friday. Rob and I met in an online community we are both part of, Jackpot Tattoo Community. Rob and I actually grew up about 15 miles apart in southern Minnesota in the 80’s/90’s and most likely crossed paths prior to meeting at the convention.

Sunday evening the convention came to a close and the CW Crew tore down, packed up and loaded out. We all arrived back at CW, unloaded and got everything back in order for us to get back to work on Tuesday.

Monday, I attended the Artists Seminar with four amazing artists; Joshua Bowers (Iron Heart Tattoo and Bower’s Supply), Alisha Harding, Stefano Alcantara and Gunnar. It was awe inspiring to listen to them speak about their careers, the industry and hear the advice they offered. Wow, just WOW!

As y’all know, I’m a high energy guy and after this past weekend, I’m so very inspired to do some bigger pieces of art, specifically color back pieces. I have a concept I’d love to do! If you’re interested, get in touch with me and we’ll get a consultation scheduled!
